For the Love of Heather Chadduck

I think it's safe to say all of you know who Heather Chadduck is. If not, let me introduce you to one of my personal favorite designers. She is the style editor at Cottage Living magazine and her home has been featured in the mag twice, in the December issue, in 2004 and 2006 I believe. She is f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s. She has also had a ton of features in CL magazine of clients projects she's done. She's the queen of turning ick into incredible.

I especially love her liberal use of beadboard, blue-green paint, oversize and rustic light fixtures, monograms, ledger paper and burlap. Hello, how can you not love that?

I think she has created a beautiful melange of cottage, old world, seaside, rustic, contemporary, with the occasional dash of glam and melded these varied elements into a signature look that is just beautiful, as well as recognizable. I can usually spot rooms she has done in CL before I notice her credit as the producer.

So, I thought I would amass some eyecandy, courtesy of Heather Chadduck and CL magazine. Do you have a favorite room that she has done, or do you have a designer who's work you
just L-O-V-E? I'd love to hear your feedback!

There are many more pics of rooms she's done that I can't find online, so these will have to do for now. Hope you enjoy!

Layla,

I am so glad someone appreciates my fondness/obsession with Heather Chadduck rooms! You must be a kindred spirit. I wish I could find more of her work online, she should have her own website with her design work on it! I am too lazy to scan in all my favorite rooms from my magazine file, so these "classics" will have to do.

Thanks again for the blog visit and I can't wait to keep in touch with you - seems we like a lot of the same stuff!

Love,
Kari

It is all because of Heather and CL that I found the blog world...did a search for a room I had seen in CL and found loads of blogs that mentioned her or the word cottage. Would any of her other fans love to see her branch out to maybe a book or TV show?!

And, I thought I was the only one who admired this Cottage Living editor named Heather Chadduck. I'm always flipping through my new CL mag looking for her stuff!

I adore Heather Chadduck. I've kept the christmas issue of CS from a couple of years ago that featured her home. I've toured it several times on their website. I love her style.

Wow, I didn't know there were other rabid Heather Chadduck fans such as myself! I keep hoping she'll find a job at another mag, or that CL will be published once again, so I can keep seeing her work.

Hi - I too am a Heather Chadduck fan (my hubby says I have a girl-crush). Luckily I have an inside scoop... She is now a style editor at Coastal Living! Of course I'll miss that signature cottage look, but I'm sure she'll put her own spin on the coastal style. Glad to know I'm not the only big fan of Heather!

i would love to find heather chadduck's source for the Wallpaper in a 2007 Cottage Living "fresh ideas" magazine. She took a closet and repurposed into a TV/Electronics center and wallpapered in a delightful floral print from Thibaut. (839- T- 6950) i am having trouble tracking it down and have emailed Thibaut and Anna French. no responses yet. any ideas?

thanks for featuring Heather. Your blog looks fabulous!
